Banksy: A Message for the Planet

This summer, Banksy fans can take their hunt for the elusive artist’s work off the streets and into a Mayfair exhibition as part of a ‘Greatest Hits’ celebration in honour of the social, political and environmental statements that the anonymous artist has become so famous for.

Lazinc Gallery will be showcasing some of Banksy’s most iconic images - the first UK exhibition allowing visitors to see the artists unique work all in one place – from stencilled canvases, paintings, to limited-edition prints. The powerful show will explore some of the artist’s most well-known artworks, including Girl and Balloon, a piece that was voted as the nation’s favourite back in 2017.

At Dr Jackson’s, we have a special connection with Banksy. Not only does the artist herald from Bristol (the city we call our home), but we’re also lucky enough to have a magnificent Banksy piece on our HQ building.

Paying tribute to Vermeer’s 1665 masterpiece Girl with a Pearl Earring, Banksy replaces the pearl with a security alarm box identified as The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum. We love seeing the spectacle every day!

However, it’s the artist’s ability to highlight environmental issues in a powerful light that captures our attention – from climate change, plastic pollution to the decline of our planet’s future.
